Student Success TipsTip #69 Behave: People are
Watching “Difficult times do not build
your character. Difficult
times reveal your character.”
People notice how you handle difficult situations, you know.
Have you heard that difficult times build character?
Wrong!
Difficult times reveal your character.
If you haven’t been attending to personal growth and
professional development, and by that I mean, learning new skills and
holding yourself accountable for actually using those skills, don’t
expect that something wonderful is going to come out of you when the
going gets tough.
Everyone, even an above average communicator like you isn’t
quite on his best behavior in the face of challenging times.
This doesn’t mean they fail, by any means, it’s just a bit
more difficult to be wonderful in the face of trials.
But reputations are determined in those times of trials.
Remind yourself of this when you are tempted to misbehave when
the going gets especially tough.
Ask yourself this question: “What will my behavior in this
moment tell people about me?” ***************************************** For all 101 Tips on Student Success as a download you can get right now, go to Success Store While you're there, check out my other downloadable
