Student LeadershipTIP
#99 Temper the Extroverts
In “Fitting in Fast” the program covers how to make people
feel comfortable with you quickly, we cover specifically the four main
personality types and how to adjust when you’re with each one, so you
can quickly make friends and get along well with others.
Contrary to the introvert, an extrovert thinks out loud and tends
to use many more words than an introvert does.
The extroverts, who have extreme tendencies, must be tempered and
you’ll need to set boundaries with them.
Especially important is to watch group dynamics and to make sure
your extroverts are giving the introverts an opportunity to express
their opinions.
You may need to quietly draw the extrovert aside and let her know
that, in the interest of time and giving everyone an opportunity to
speak, you’re going to limit the time and frequency that each person
can speak.
Then hold yourself to that. As someone who gives frequent
seminars to corporations and schools on communication, I can guarantee
that the person who talks too much is annoying those who don’t get to
talk enough. ***************************************** For all 101 Tips on Student Time Management as a download you can get right now, go to Success Store While you're there, check out other downloadable
