Student Leadership

TIP #68

Have an Elevated and Healthy Self-Image

You will never rise higher than your own opinion of yourself.

You may have been raised thinking that it’s immodest or even annoying to others to hold yourself in high regard, but this is not so.

You don’t have to strut around flaunting your greatness in front of others. Just hold that high opinion of yourself inside and appreciate that you have unique gifts with which you can serve others and make a profound difference in the world.

This is a healthy attitude that you will want to take with you as you embark upon your career and grow professionally.  Remember that others will rarely give you more than you feel worthy of.  I cover this topic under my concept I call “raising your ego-stat” in “The Power of Purpose.”

Believe in yourself, you team, and your vision for your team. Be open to constant personal and professional improvement.

You must think well of yourself before you can think well of others and help them to excel.
